An Infographic that Explains the Flathead Guide’s Vision

Creating this Infographic began as an experiment. I thought it might be interesting to create an Infographic (I had never attempted one before this). My plan was to provide a holistic explanation for the motivations behind launching the Flathead Guide, and how a business could benefit from having a listing in the directory.

After numerous failed attempts, I finally produced my infographic and I think it gives a reasonable 30,000 ft. view of the story. The graphic offers a few facts as they relate to the need for local businesses to have mobile-friendly websites, and a few significant benefits to businesses from embracing this smartphone opportunity.

I won’t bore you with the technical details of creating something like this with no experience or outside help. Suffice it to say that it was a challenge and I’m glad I don’t do this for a living. The concept is straightforward, but the execution was a challenge.

What is the purpose of an Infographic?

Our world is becoming incredibly complex and more data (on every topic) is being created every minute of every day. An Infographic permits a simplistic visualization of data that flows easily and makes it possible to grasp the big picture with less brain energy. In short, an Infographic is a snapshot of a particular topic vs. a detailed analysis.

My purpose in making this Infographic is because I practice what I preach to my SEM clients in that getting links pointing to my website is extremely important. As the sole marketing grunt responsible for attracting traffic to the Flathead Guide, posting this on sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and others helps to accomplish that mission.
