Christmas in the Flathead Valley

Christmas is always a special time of year regardless of where you find yourself, but here in the Flathead Valley it is almost a magical experience. With few exceptions, we are covered with a blanket of snow and the streets of Bigfork and Whitefish are famous for their holiday decorations.

The days and weeks prior to Santa’s arrival are packed with local events for kids and adults alike.  After Thanksgiving most of the local communities have parades and everything leads up to Santa’s Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade at Whitefish Ski Resort.

Christmas in the Flathead Valley is still celebrated and honored in the traditional way and being here during this season is like taking a step back in time. If you have never experienced Christmas in NW Montana, it needs to be on your ‘bucket list’.  Just start singing to yourself, “I’m dreaming of a Whitefish Christmas…”
